GREAT VALUE!!! AWESOME SET

We are so happy with our purchase of this bedroom set for our twin toddlers, three years old now. They would not sleep in the traditional toddler beds...likely because they always sneak into our queen size bed. So, the girls were definitely accustomed to sleeping in something roomier than the standard toddler bed. We steered clear of the toddler beds also because we thought...over time..it was worth our while to make an investment that could stretch through the girls lives. Now, that may seem drastic, but, after we received the beds..it definitely seems realistic. The quality is amazing. The color of the bed seems a true oak and so its not too dark or too light. It is really great. I stairs are so sturdy as is the top bunk itself. Both my husband and I fell asleep in it! We paired the bunk beds with Diamond pillow top mattresses...seems much for toddlers, but again, we are looking long term. I may add...we do not have alot of money, however, we have found that you get what you pay for in life...sometimes its worth it to pay a pretty penny because if you bought something cheaper you are more likely to spend more money overtime having to replace the furniture. This bed ( in the future) can be stained, or painted...you have options. You can later detach the stair case and have the beds sit as their own entity. All of the extra storage is really fabulous because as you know...when you have kids..you accrue lots of "stuff" the drawers under the bed, on the stair case and then the stand alone dresser provide more than enough to keep things tidy in the room. We ordered our furniture from a catalog, but, let me tell you...this set exceeded our expectations. We looked at all bunk bed brands...low end to high end and this set really beat all of the beds in terms of solid strength of the bed, the real wood was VERY big for us because these days you get manufactured wood, the color, the design, the size, and the overall quality has driven me to write a review! you will not be disappointed...MOST IMPORTANTLY though...your kids will love it. they have tons of fun with their beds. Also, the rails at the top of the bed are thick! and are at a great height! our kids do move when they sleep, but there has not been one issue with them falling out or off the bed!

Solid, sturdy, attractive...

We ordered this bed for our 4 & 6 year old children who share a room. We liked the full-over-full option, as both kids like to scootch and sprawl when they sleep...plus we can lay next to them and read books comfortably, or have a comfortable place for their friends when they sleep over. Stairs seemed like a much safer alternative to a ladder.
The storage drawers underneath and in the stairs are a huge bonus! Easy to assemble and very sturdy (solid wood, NOT cheap laminate/MDF). The stairs and underbed drawers actually come already assembled...nice! The rails are a good height to keep the child on the top bunk from rolling out of bed.
As with all bunk beds, making the bed is a bit of a challenge...but that's pretty minor.
Our only major complaint was the inadequate number of slats for under the mattress. Only 3 slats are provided per mattress (6 total), which definitely didn't seem to be enough. Our kids are only 40-50 lbs each, and when they were crawling/laying on the top bunk, it really drooped/bowed. A simple solution would be to purchase a slat kit or bunkie board for added support. Or, you can do what my husband did, and cut/made his own pine slats. We found that upping it to 6 slats per mattress made it much safer/sturdier, and gave us peace of mind.
Overall, we are super pleased with this purchase, and the kids LOVE it.

Buyer BEWARE!!! Be sooo AWARE!!!

I ordered this for my grandson for Christmas. Delivery date was for Dec. 28, 2012. It never came! When I called they said it was undeliverable. That is a lie!!! I live in the country on a farm, haul animals in and out, I have a circle drive specifically for large trucks and trailers. The company would not refund all my money, they kept approximately $400.00 as a "re-stocking fee". It was never UN-stocked,They did say they would happy to send the bed, but I would have to pay full price again. Really??? Remember the old saying, "screw me once, shame one you - screw me twice, shame on me". Not happening. In this economy, for a company to get away with doing that to someone, is a pitiful shame. My next call is to the Better Business Bureau.
