Nice Bed For Kids
By MizzouFan
I bought this bed for my 3-year old and she really enjoys it. That, I guess, is ultimately one of the best things I can say about the bed. Some things I noticed:
-It claims to have a 225 lb weight limit (I, at 200 lbs, climbed in and it held me just fine)
-It is a little bit wobbly when my child climbs up the ladder -- barely noticeable but I would prefer to be absolutely rock-solid
-I used a 8" mattress in the bed. The instructions call for a 6" mattress. The 8" mattress works just fine except for the fact that I wish the guardrails were now an inch or two taller as they only extend 2-3" above the mattress.
-The slide takes up quite a bit of room, more so than I expected
-When assembled (even if the slide is off), it won't fit through a standard bed room door
-Good storage space under the bed which helps mitigate the amount of space it takes up
All in all, a nice children's bed especially if you can find it on sale or during a lightning deal (as I did).

Disappointed and making do
By RGW
I gave this bed only two stars because of that lingering feeling that we spent too much money for such poor quality and that we should have spent a little more for a different product. The bed is very sloppily manufactured with poor tack welds and plastic ends that are not fastened correctly. There is a portion of the area around the slide that I will need to put some type of cover over because the plastic edging is fastened so badly that it forms a sharp edge. I definitely would not recommend using this bed without a curtain. The castle curtain we bought hides many of the defects and truly makes the bed.
The loft arrived without any instructions and no parts list. Also part of the ladder was badly damaged, so much so that it clearly had to have been packed by the manufacturer defectively. We found the manual for this bed online. You will need what they call an IM number. We found this number on the label of the shipping box. The IM number for this product is B34551309801. The bed itself goes together relatively quickly with two people. We lost a lot of time trying to find the manual, figuring out what the damaged part was and whether we could still assemble the bed without the damaged piece but after that it took us approximately 1.5 hrs.
Given the way the bed goes together, you can assemble it without the ladder piece and add that later. I called customer service the following day to request a new ladder, part number T910480 (taken from the manual which has a complete parts list of what you should expect to arrive in the box). The customer service agent was very harried and there was some confusion as to what replacement part I needed even though I had the part number. The customer service agent finally indicated that I would be getting the new part in 7-14 days. However, it was such an abrupt conversation that I don't have a lot of faith that this piece will be arriving.
The one positive, despite all of this, is that our almost 4 year old loves the bed, especially because of the castle curtain and the slide. She has no complaints and has been telling everyone about it.
We bought a Signature Sleep 6" memory foam mattress for this bed and it fits well in the loft bed and is very comfortable. We also bought purple LammaLoe Colortastic sheets which match the purple in the castle curtain and fit the mattress well.

Fun but problematic if you move often
By Lisa
I purchased this bed last March intending to give it to my son for his 4th birthday in November. We have been moving frequently for my husband's work, so the bed kind of got set aside and never put together (don't worry, my son did get plenty of alternative b-day gifts). Well, it has come to the point that he just cannot fit on his toddler mattress any longer, so against our better judgment we put the bed together in a house we know we'll be moving from within 6 months or less. Construction was a bit of a hassle, with the slide not fitting in perfectly and a lot of physical force being necessary. It took two adults to put the bed together and three when it came to the slide, because we didn't do it exactly in order so someone small (myself) had to squeeze under the end and fit the final screws. The bed is adorable and my son has already had fun in the tent although he can't sleep in it until his mattress comes. It seems sturdy enough, but it will not fit through a doorway assembled. Even removing the slide, you cannot fit it through without completely disassembling it. For a family that moves, this is troubling. I'm also concerned about the longevity of the screws/the possibility of stripping if we must dis/reassemble too many times.
All that being said, I would recommend it. I purchased from a different store that claims to help you save money and live better....and in the case of this bed that was very true as the exact same bed WITH included curtains is available for $210. Great fun for kids and perfect height for my 4.5 year old. The slide does take up quite a bit of space but I was surprised by how much room was left in my son's room that I would not consider to be large.
EDIT: My son's been sleeping in the bed for almost 3 months now and we're still happy with the quality. I lay in the bed with him to read a bedtime story and often end up falling asleep for an hour or so and it seems to be very sturdy. Great height for my son who is almost 5.
